The Flag Officers do not believe that this offer is sufficient to enable the Club to continue trading and that there is now no prospect of the Club avoiding an insolvent liquidation. We have therefore, with deep sadness, decided to appoint Chris Latos and Sue Maund of White Maund LLP as administrators over the Club.

I see the rowing club are talking about a new boat storage building. Why the difference between the two?

As was always inevitable the auction of equipment has started, see link below if you need training boats, ribs, windsurfers and various other assorted equipment.

http://www.i-bidder.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/timed/sia-group/catalogue-id-sia-gr10008?page=1

Be careful if you're not used to auctions, read the details, and remember whatever you bid is subject to 15% buyers premium and VAT on the hammer price and the buyers premium too.
The boats and equipment all appears to be in Southampton now.
And of course you can't put last second bids in like you can on eBay.....

Just in case people weren’t aware, Bewl is fully open to sailors again. Excellent facility, and good to see it back in use< ="cosymantecnisbfw" co="cs" id="SILOBFWID" style="width: 0px; height: 0px; display: block;">

Depends on your definition of fully open really I suppose.
My understanding from the website is that its day sailing tickets with no safety cover and no organised racing. Which in turn means anyone who feels that these things should be part of a sailing venue should stay well clear.

....and you have to have RYA level 2 (notwithstanding fifty years of sailing experience, boat ownership etc.  I remember Tom Cunliffe writing in Practical Boat owner when the Yachtmaster scheme was first launched 'Make no mistake, this will become compulsory'.  But good to see something rising from the ashes - the racing will come eventually. The concession that boats can go sailing on an inland lake without being accompanied by a flotilla of RIBs is progress indeed.

Wrong I’m afraid. Fully open, organised safety cover for midweekers and weekend groups. Both day passes and season tickets available.

Racing is also taking place - the sailors are organising their own races, with safety cover in place
