The takeaways are the lines just under the gunnels. They work OK, but twist quite easily. I untwist them each time I launch, but experimenting with a slightly different set up.

The lines with visible knots are the optional righting lines. If you have short arms, these apparently help. I can reach up easily so never have seen the need for them. I think one person I know has them, the rest of us don't.

Now leaving

don't go Duncan .... fellow class buddy.  we could have matching signatures.....

'our boats are crap, but we don't care; 'cos our sailing's cheap and we've kept our hair'

which is a far cry from the hand-wringing going on in some other quarters at the moment....

And anyway, righting lines.... had them on the Vareo as one of those optional extras, but never felt a need for them in reality.  I'd be tempted to play with those takeaways too.... but that's personal preference.

Making the O of aerO a different colour for each sail size would have been a boon for the RO, really. Took me a couple of takes before I saw that one boat was different.

Strange I don't appear to be in that shot, must have been ahead Embarrassed...not

Yes, it could be a lot more obvious. We just take down the sail numbers and match that up to the entry.

On Sailwave you can then have different entries i.e. Joe blogs7 & Joe Blogs9.

I have the righting lines. I am small but so far have not found them to be of much help when I am struggling to right the boat, this only happens above 20knts or so. Otherwise I can right it fine without them. PRactice I think. Have to say I am hugely impressed with RS and the aftersales team; completely happy to sort out any issues in as quick a time and owner friendly fashion. Just had my boat delivered back to my door Clap. That sort of thing makes the price tag justified in my opinion, apart from being a great boat. AND I think it IS pretty! more so than the D zero LOL

The RYA have just published ENs for the RS Aeros. They are 1030, 1065 and 1105 respectively.
