Hi, do you have any photos of your centre sheeting set up? I'd be keen to try it on mine. Thanks.

This was the set up when I still had one purchase back to the rear bridle, I have simply taken that purchase back to the tower.

I got so fed up losing my mainsheet down the centreboard slot - hilarious consequences - that I made this slot cover. It started life as a tennis ball carrier, £3 from Decathlon. The edges are iron-on fabric tape, machine and hand stitched into place. The clear plastic patches will go behind the centreboard uphaul blocks. In the photo, the cover is laying flat, so you need to imagine it folded in half lengthways. The wider end will go behind the mainsheet turret, with the black drawcord around the sheet ratchet block. The bungee at the wider end is going to be fixed to the screws at the bottom of the turret. The bungee at the narrower end will be at the rear of the slot, running along the cockpit floor and tied to the rear toestrap anchor point. That's the theory. I'm sure the forward end will be secure, but I'm not confident about the aft end. I'll take some more photos when it's on the boat.

Yes,yes, all right... Actually, you've given me an idea. maybe I'll stitch a patch pocket to it - somewhere to keep sarnies, course board, spare shackles,,,

Good idea, handy place to store stuff like that, we need cupholders as well as a carbon rig to bring us right up to date, then it really would be the perfect boat.

Calling the new owner of Solution 440!
I understand that 440 has been sold to "Peter" who lives in the Stockport area, which is where I live. Get in touch with us Peter, and come and sail the boat alongside myself and Martin Tubb at Leigh and Lowton SC. Would be great to add you to our ranks. Steve White, LLSC, Solution 450. |
