You need to factor in the appalling forecast prior to this years event. Stats are useless on their own.
I believe the 2012 was a much better forecast but not sure.

Yes - as said, 'overall decline in participation'....  that said the number of entries were up on last year weren't they?

RS300s had their slaloms too- was it the same weekend?  And I'm sure they would be a natural 'target' for the organisers being such an active class at the moment.

The alternative view would be that class racing is getting itself together.  I think there's probably an overall decline in participation, but class racing in established classes seems to be holding up.  I guess the decline is most noted at travelling sailing events - therefore if you are going to travel, then it's likely you will go for a class specific event, not a PY regatta.

Yes,  had hoped for more entries,  but does seem to reflect a general decline across other dinghy events

Not for the lack of trying,  we have had adverts in the mags,  flyers at Dinghy Show and local clubs,  display material at DS,  weekly postings on SailRacer and push ON Social Media etc.  The challenge we increasingly face is that sailing is becoming ever fragmented, which all means more effort required to reach the audience

Any way some Key features

3 days of racing

Musto Speed Challenge  - great gear to be won for fastest top speeds (adjusted)

Sunday Supper -  after dinner talk David Henshall (of this Parish),  7 days that changed sailing

Inaugural D-Zero Nationals

Test sail another class

It's in 4 days time according to the ticker thing, that's this weekend! I finally got in using this firefox I'm posting on now three pages of crap 'clean your mac' pages later and an ID I haven't used here for ages.

What a shame, there seems to be lots going on, just goes to show you can't rely on one source of internet alone. They need a web savvy social meejia marketing person.

So there will probably be lots of turn up on the day types wont there, is that the D Zero's happening there or nearby? That'll liven things up surely. Although they are new, do they know how to party I wonder, this is such a shame I've just run a demo down there a week or two back, I could have really livened that event up, I might have even brought along the windsurfers 'all you need to know how to party guide book' including tips on cross dressing, lyp synch battle, open mic, pole dancing for pervs and game of thrones swinging tent.

I just hope the NWF isn't met with a similar level of apathy.... it must be hard for the organisers, putting that much effort into something and not getting the take-up you would have anticipated.

That said, there's not been much noise about it this year, nothing on twitter or Facebook etc, so I'd imagine this could be the graceful exit for SailFest.

Well pants or no, I'm set up to use Safari, I find with all the others, the ads and spam and clean your mac drivel is out of control and since I can't be asked to find out how to stop it I default to Safari along with millions of others, your task Jim should you choose to engage us, is to make your ****ing site work with the 2nd most popular web browser.

Back to the question at hand, is that all they've got entered in the double handers? In fact is that all they've got entered period? I thought this was going to be like the winter Sailfest thing, just goes to show maybe when there's a choice folks are peeved off with what those winter buggers are doing, when there are other options they're giving it a drive by?

So why is it I wonder, what are they cashing with?

I find Safari works on my iPad for everything apart from SailRacer.

Safari works most of the time as my Mac default, however sometimes it doesn't like images posted on this forum for instance.
FireFox is an easy install and seems to like the things Safari doesn't.  Confused
