Well you've broken the first rule, don't tell anyone, get your handicap set by the wooden one, use copious muppets on lakes and be sure to get returns in, then launch light carbon everything version and enjoy mass sales for a couple of years of perfect banditry - it's the only way to be sure.
Good Luck and put me down for a test sail of one..

Woodburner, sorry you were unable to find someone to talk to you about the Hadron at the Dinghy Show. You perhaps have a point about the weight - there is a lot of dinghy there and she weighs about 20kg more than a Phantom. But that is the plywood version: we are now planning to produce a version using the latest composite techniques, with a target weight which will be 10-15kg lighter than a Phantom. Now that will help your shoulder problem! We will have two pre-production boats sailing by the end of the summer, with a probable public launch at the 2016 Dinghy Show.. We plan to develop a safe, user-friendly, elegant, singlehander that is a delight to sail and own. The target customer will NOT be the young athlete (though I'm sure they will enjoy sailing a Hadron). Comments on this Forum thread will help us during the development process, so thanks to all who have made constructive comments and suggestions.

I've looked at that hadron a couple of times when it appeared un accompanied by anybody who knew anything about it at the Dinghy show, my first impression was it seemed huge for a sit down boat, doesn't look much smaller than it's Merlin cousin.
It also seemed not to tick the weight necessary not to put my back or shoulder out trolleying it about, that said, the rest of it looked very businesslike and I could clearly see it's not going be be a kneeler. I wonder how much lighter it could be made if other materials than wood were used. The merlin those boys use is certainly light enough, so it must be feasible.

Over the years I have sailed and owned a number of single handers, non I hasten to add with a trapeze. I haven't found one , until recently, that is truly easy on the knees. I am an average club sailor who has owned and sailed, my kids Topper, numerous Lasers, three Supernovas, a Finn, a Phantom, and an RS300, my knees are now showing age and wear and tear. Then I bought a Hadron, designed by Keith Callaghan and built by Simon Hipkin. Problem solved. A proper dinghy, far less knee work, more comfort, just as much fun. I would thoroughly recommend the Hadron to anyone.

Clearly there is no consensus here. Have a look at my Hadron dinghy. It is DESIGNED for sailing comfort. No kneeling required!

Anybody say JJ Phantom? Phantom not too heavy to drag up a slip and JJ dropped floor for comfort.

the finn is pretty horrendous on knees! plus I know some old finn sailors who both blame their hip replacements on dragging finns up beaches
