Knew a girl a few years ago who crewed a Javelin. As well as a gentleman helm she had a hairy little dog who scamperd up her body when she was flat wiring and sat on the padded bits at the top, now I would have happily scampered up her body.....but that is another matter. What you could do young woodbuggerer is sit the family dog on your face?

I can confirm they do have sailwave, but it's the clubs stance that it causes no arguments (and only one grumbling) if the handicaps just get changed at the start of the next series, so only two weeks to wait.

I'm glad to hear that Mr Fuller is getting on OK with the Solution. They are generally pretty bullet-proof so he'll have to be going some to take the new-out-of-the-box shine off it!

The class association has taken on board some of the comments on this thread about it being difficult to get to have a go in the Solution. We're never going to be able to afford RS-style have-a-go-wherever-you-are demo days because, well, we're a class association, we have day jobs and limited resources. But we have managed to arrange a demo day at West Oxford SC on 18 April. Details are on the Solutionclass website if you want to come along and have a go.

We picked West Oxford as being on the south side of the middle of the country as the demo boats tend to live up north; if you want a go but can't get to Oxford, let us know and we'll try and set up another date. We can't guarantee to get the boat on your doorstep but we'll try to get something within a reasonable travel for most folks.

On thing the D--Zero class has done is get together a list of people who are willing to offer their boats for Ad-hoc demos. The Solution class might want to look at doing this too. So far I know that demos arranged this way have resulted in a few extra sales of boats that otherwise might not have happened.

Haven't had any updates on this for a while now; is there any additional news after a few more weeks of sailing it ?

Well it's proved quite a weapon at our lake, a couple of wins, a couple of seconds in the hands of some of the more skilled hands down there, I've got a couple of sea sailors who want to try it, so once I can pry it from the lake, now we've started sea sailing it'll be interesting to see how it fares on open water against Lasers.
There's allegedly going to be a demo at Oxford later this month which I guess this boat will have to head off to, can't remember the date, and I've managed to secure one at a reasonable price so I can probably let more folk try it (and bugger about with it so it suits my half assed sailing style), that'll make two of us now as Solution Owners, Jack is going to the nationals so is keen to try it on the sea as well.
I now know why it's not going anywhere fast and have made a spirited attempt at changing that, but the jury's still out as to wether the horse will drink the water I've lead it to.

There is a pretty good sailor just started racing one up at Leigh and Lowton (north west england) It was pretty quick at the weekend - lightish winds - though looked a bit sticky when it went very light.

Nice looking boat though
