Well we aero sailors have to have grey covers to blend in as what's underneath is so hot!!

The kicker swivel is good. The side deck cleats work well enough. Very well positioned albeit a separate lead and a cam cleat would be slightly better in very light conditions. However the boat just works.

took out my new boat today (must be mad/stupid) and considering the conditions i was impressed with the boat (but not me!) the swivel kicker is great, the cleats i found worked well, and the speed of rigging excellent. the ropes being new were slightly slippery (as were my gloves, borrowed, not impressed) and i found the hardest thing with the capsize was the slipperyness of everything. fine if i could grab the kicker line but otherwise tricky. capsize practice definitely required. did eventually manage a couple of good dry capsizes but then another dry one ended up with a double. best thing is not to capsize of course, but the righting lines will definitely help until i have perfected the boat. arms are too short to easily reach. will also be easier in a wetsuit rather than a drysuit. the boat sings when on a plane, not just humming! really good fun. just got to get fitter!

The RYA need more data for your handicap apparently... I don't.

You can have 1040 on a unofficial spreadsheet I'd run, same as the D-Zero and the Rooster 8.1.  Please come along and join Draycote if you're nearby, you'll be put in the 'Medium Handicap Fleet' and there's a nice fella probably sailing his Blaze a bit quicker than us, we'll use him as the pacemaker and race scratch.

Bottle of Vintage Dom Perignon for the person who wins the Wednesday Night (combined) Series on an 'across the line basis' - 4 discards between Apr and Sept to encourage participation but allow for regular private sector holiday entitlement.

Anyone up for it?  (probably not, ... but hey, it would be great to have some Aeros to race against regardless)

* oh, before you ask about which rig?, the answer is 'does it look like I give a damn?'

finally got out for the first time at my home club.wind quite nice, gusty as usual but not above 22knts. no capsizes, and was keeping up with a well sailed full rig laser for most of the time. if i hadnt had to do turns i think i might have got hopim. love my boat! feel v comfortable in it now, everything so easy to reach.
