My Money is on Stu Jones in his Contender if the forecast holds.

Yes - wish we could make it this year with the 2K!  The stronger it blows the better we do at the BM.  But I'm not convinced under ragged is strictly accurate.  What plays in to the 2000s hands in the big breeze is a big flat aft section and higher than average waterline length for its handicap.

And then the fact that there are fat bloke like me sailing them!

And I would have crewed the 2k again had you asked me!  The 2k is a great boat in a blow.  If I still had one and was free is be taking it.

Agree about Stu Jones, he should be up there somewhere.

I beleive Mike Holt is racing in a 505.  Wouldn't bet against him in these conditions either.  I am looking forward to it.  Just a bit worried about launch and recovery.  It's sh*t at the best of times there!

If it was just Clare and the kids tied up I'd have asked you!  But sadly not.

I did a windy one once 'Those behind cried forwards and those before cried back'.

Anyone name the poem?

I actually know the answer to that Matt.  Believe it or not!  More accurately I know the story the poem relates to.  Not sure the relevance to the thread, that's a little to cryptic for me.

Edit  Sorry!  I get it now.  Spanner moment!  Very good and very true!!!

You been watching 300 then Russ :)

It has to be one of the longest poems ever written, so to remember that line is pretty impressive. Matt where on earth did you dig that out from? Or is it a battalion battle cry?

Showing my age - still some rote learning in my day!  A snippet that came back to me.

Is it the Charge of the Light Brigade? Just a guess but it sounds like it could be. "Into the valley of death, rode the six hundred", good luck all you Bloody Maryists!
