good job some those chatting and responsible for some of the banter put the leg work in to create and manage that website then. Different platforms for different purposes- personally I don't see the point of a Facebook group that's drier than a nuns snatch, anymore than a class association website loaded with trivial banter- that's what FB and forums are for, maybe some here are forgetting that when complaining about current popular content? I's a forum supposed to be a sales and promotional channel??? Maybe we're all losing the plot!! Edited by turnturtle - 19 Dec 14 at 2:02pm |

If we all have to worry about how off the cuff comments we made 5 years ago are going to be taken now, I think forum traffic will grind to a halt.
Pretty sure I'm not the only one who posts things on here that are semi thought out opinions, looking for the thoughts of others in order to achieve enlightenment? 10 years on I'm still waiting, but the journey has been fun. |

Spot on Rupert, and fashions change. I quite like the ugliness of the d-one aesthetic now, i guess English bulldog owners feel the same about how their pets look!

Imagine the reaction you'd get on a Bulldog forum if you said that... death threats at the very least! |

Bulldogs and Bulldogging would at least be slightly higher brow than Bulldog Anarchy!

It
does re write the playbook and everyone wishing to approach this single
hander market especially us older whining about lifting the boat onto
the trailer demographic had better pay attention (Mike Lyons
Blaze)lighten up or ship out is the mantra for the coming decades.
Greame - Another way of looking at things is to suspend the idea that the 'single-hander' market is struggling to find a common or uniform class. The Blaze family is not ever going to be as light (or as heavy) as some other classes .. it is heavier than a few, sure, but then again it is larger than a lot as well and that does give you real leverage. Leave the wings system off etc and it is sub 50kg without even trying and would still offer more leverage than either of the the two (or is that now three ?) *ero's / new centre-strappers) Horses for courses of course and having real choice is to be celibrated surely ? Not better for some helms of course .... but certainly different. Cirrus have only ever produced boats in Vinylester (Icon) or epoxy (Blaze / Icon2) and our boats are always on minimum weight when owners get hold of them.... I would really like to see your reaction if we can persuade you into one of them either with the standard Blaze .. or a Fire rig. I suspect your old Blaze way back was an early Polyester original and heavy 'clunker' so maybe not the best example. It is always worth trying stuff and I always encourage others to try our boats and anyone elses. But I also do 'as I say' as well and have learned and enjoyed the time I've spent in other classes. In just the past season I've tried both Zero or Aero on several occasions and even raced a modern Solo for the first time (Charlie C's no less and thank you very much there !) and have been seen in a Cornish Shrimper (Don't ask ....). Trying stuff out is never wasted time in my book. Borrow my own Blaze yourself sometime ..... Mike L. Edited by blaze720 - 19 Dec 14 at 6:06pm |

funny this fixation with weight, I don't want to push a heavy boat around the shore but actually, built to last (and transfer the power from the rig as efficiently as possible) is far more important in most cases, IMO, than built to the absolute bear minimum weight
