It has been kept a secret. The wars in all the other places have simply been to distract us from the invasion of Iran, where the leaders have been replaced by far right Christian Americans with big beards. No one has noticed any difference. |

so despite, what 5 years of telling us all we're all t**sers for not having lighter boats, one finally comes along. Coupled with a windsurfer's dream 'quiver choice' for multiple conditions (PY/class b**locks [and it is 'b**locks' imo] aside). You are not putting your hand in your pocket? What crap is being chucked at it? Questioning an £840 dacron sail choice? Asking legitimate questions about capsize recovery techniques when there are reports out there that it's a bit tricky? Asking about an issue inadvertently released, but released all the same, into the public domain about a 'packaging problem' potentially affecting some batches of boats ...... really, 'chucking crap'... do me a favour. It's just discussion. This is all grease to the mill for RS - they've thrived on peer-to-peer marketing and word of mouth discussion, which is after all, all forums and social media are.

It doesn't go upwind either. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=790986464271261&set=o.564100513736538&type=2&theater

a query / observation put to bed when someone finally got around to filming it going uphill....
but it wasn't raised just on this forum, this is a (redacted) post from back in May... response was they were 'drip feeding', which to me suggests collateral was available however it suits RS's marketing policies to have conversations like this rattling around in the public domain generating awareness of what is, by many an account, just another fairly basic singlehanded dinghy to step up and take a swing at the Laser behemoth. ![]() Edited by turnturtle - 17 Dec 14 at 3:51pm |

In that breeze the 7 would have been faster than the 9 upwind with that weight on board. He was not lacking any power and his board is part up. The blaze is a bit faster upwind and probably on most points of sail, but I was surprised it wasn't quite a bit faster upwind with its leverage. I was frankly very surprised that it could match the Tasar. I think a 9 may have given them a challenge on a broad reach though. All that said I doubt us mere mortals will be looking that quick

Why is it in this RS aero thread that the more "animated" postings are made by D Zero owners? Are they beginning to develop feelings of inadequacy?

The 5,7,9 area is one where I do think RS could have done more, either by naming the boats (Aero Orange, Aero Mint, Aero Chocolate, maybe?) or by making the sail markings very, very different. I think the PYAG are going to get a lot of returns for "Aero", and plenty of others where the number will be wrong, so muddying the waters and bringing the handicaps closer together than they are in reality.

And I've just realized why they are getting damaged in transit - RS are wrapping them in foil and paper.
