Jeez, y'all must have the patience of Job dealing with these t**sers, if this were a kite forum I'd have had to tell them to STFU by now...

Perhaps I could offer this useful quote from the book of Job that you could use to the detractors

"Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man;"

Or you could just tell them to shut the f**k up now..

Bring a nice new boat into the world and all you get is grief ffs.

Grief?  Really?  Internet buzzing talking about a boat many would dismiss as bland and boring (you can throw the D-Zero into the same cage)....

... all anyone's asked for is the HIN numbers to be made public again, so a known issue can be tracked for future purchasers.

I do agree with Riki, whether that's a transport issue, production problem or simply inconsistent blending of colgate, gaviscon and anusol in the bonding paste is not really relevant.

precisely - make the video live again.  I would be nice to watch it properly, rather through a buffering iPhone.

Exactly ... had the video not been hurriedly removed we'd probably not be having this discussion.

what, you mean there is a cat.... what and a bag involved and its all in room 101....

I thought it was just some bloke doing a repair on a boat that had been whacked into a container, but apparently Kennedy was shot by the spooks and America never went to the moon. Confused

If the vast majority of the HIN numbers have had no trouble at all, it is rather more confusing to put them out there. As has been said by RS, lots of Aeros (in this case) have small fixes after they come out of the mould or after transport - just because these have come into view doesn't mean they have any more of a problem than any other, and as the majority in the containers will have had no work done at all,  giving the batch numbers will not give an accurate picture.

Maybe RS could post a video of how they do repairs on broken Aeros - I can quite understand why they don't want their new boat titivation videos out there.

guys- I love the fact that some of you are trying to discredit contribution on this forum by drubbing it as conspiracy theory.

But let's just deal with facts:

1) Some Aeros have been damaged pre-sale - no big drama, what 4 or 5 out of the first 500.... good stats for a newly tooled product imho.

2) A video of how to patch them up went live - a mistake apparently, but stable doors and bolted horses....

3) That video was then taken down - looks a bit sh*tty (to some)

4) HIN numbers are clearly not being re-released - looks a bit sh*tty (to some)

A conspiracy theory would go along the lines that RS deliberately released these products knowing there was already a production issue- packaging is part of the production process.

No one has said that or is in any way insinuating it.

Anyway more coverage for the RS Aero - no such thing as bad publicity.

(ooh, another conspiracy theory... RS deliberately let that vid or and then pulled it to generate some buzz and controversy, it'll give them something to talk about on whether it's Jon or Alex's round tonight.)

Anyway, no conspiracy, we all know how strong the transoms are meant to be, after all, they need to be able to support a 95kg person climbing over one after every capsize.

Riki if you want some more bubble wrap give me a shout - I over-ordered my last lot by mistake.

*Why don't we talk about all the centreboard case failures with the Zero then?

*For the same reason early boats have mould issues, the only conspiracy here is that the Zero-ati have the monopoly bitching about the opposition which comes across as stupidly unprofessional.
