Boom does not seem to be sticking up in the air as much in this video. Is the mast rake adjustable?

The rig needs some kicker everywhere and upwind with kicker mainsheet and cunningham on the boom is level or thereabouts. Its what gives the mast that really nice bend and the nice sail shape. This is a different kind of rig. it is set up with plenty of tension to develop the mast bend.
If you jump in and don't use tension, it won't be fast, but the result, as shown here is a very efficient looking sail shape and one that clearly works in practice.

borrowing from some windsurfing cross-over:
1) apply downhaul, check settings.
2) apply more downhaul. |

Hi Simon
Is it like the Phantom in that cunningham is last choice as it open the leech to much and bring the fullness forward so only used when overpowered lots? Gordon |

Emilio - no adjustable mast rake, just the application of kicker and a useful oval shaped mast step hole. With no kicker on in light winds the boom does point upwards. As soon as you start engaging the toe strap and leaning your shoulders back the boom should be about horizontal - just high enough to cross the boat comfortably in tacks. On reaches letting the kicker off too far will risk losing power in the leach.
Gordon - No, the cunno seems to be progressive. Pulling the cunningham; 1) Tensions vertically, bending the mast and opening the leach. 2) Stretches the high denier Dacron, flattening the front of the mainsail and moving the draft aft. Opening the leach without flattening the sail is a function of a more rigid sail cloth. I borrowed a bad example of this on my Moth once when Mike Lennon was experimenting, it was never released. Moth sails usually have Dacron luffs so that they can stretch flat on entry. So the Aero goes something like this as the wind increases progressively; 1) Max power - Pull kicker to gain shape 2) Over powered - Pull cunno progressively as you become overpowered, pull kicker again as the cunno opens the leach (allowing more kicker to be pulled). Tight outhaul. 3) More over powered - Pull cunno again to open the leach. Raising the centre board a little is a good alternative to letting the main flog. Windy pics from 'Big Thursday' here; https://www.facebook.com/groups/rsaeroclass/ , a big thank you to LPB Aerial Imagery for coming out to play in the cold. That was my 2nd sail in 1175. SimonW's video from the 14th was my 3rd. My kicker was mostly max tight on its range upwind which was OK but I am going to tighten the strops a tad to be able to try a little more.

Probably all that climbing over the back stuff... At least they're not in denial there's an issue.

Presumably for repair agents?! You wouldn't expect a punter to get the dremel disc into the join! Thats at least semi skilled!

I'd have liked to have seen at least a dust mask for that job when the dremel came out...
