I hated Calshot- what a dump of a place, I won't be going there again.

Highcliffe / Christchuch / Avon - much nicer

Hillhead / Monks Hill / Stokes Bay - better (best?) sailing / less commercial traffic

Hayling - Mecca, just has to be done, even if not technically 'the best'

Southsea - better Fish and Chips, bugger of a drive through Pompey though.

If I was younger I would buy a Dutch Barge and be more than happy to live in it

Fortunately the new house takes me on a different route home.... well that's one of the justifications for re-joining tomorrow anyway.  The other is the nice forecast on Saturday.

Haha :) My new house (if it comes off) is a 5 minute walk along a harbour footpath from one sailing club with a sizeable Finn fleet and the cheapest beer possible and a 5 minute drive (7 minute bike ride) from a major UK club, perfect for D-Zero racing

whilst it would be standard practice to offer some sort of scathing quip to hedge my envy, all I can say is I hope it comes off for you too.

You deserve it and happy sailing!  Big smile

Rodney
you missed the point, speeding tickets can mount up if you try hard enough.
I was not having any crack at the cost of the Zero or Aero.

Haha :) You need a house next to the preferred sailing club not a drive away

I honestly doubt that Gordon The cost of staying competitive in a Fant will be, for sure, more than running a D-Zero. Cost of ownership is a factor in any class.
