I like that bow, it has logical application, =more waterline length for less weight, it will certainly be a feature of my new craft same at the stern, too much deck weight was one of my V twin problems.

So a quick question what CAD packages do you tend to use, then the next question are there any that run on a MAC.

I guess that unlike the long, slim keelboats (like the 22sqm and friends) this boat is designed to be sailed dead upright, so you not only need the static waterline length but also the ability to go through the waves, hence the bow.

Craiggo - like it, other than the Vladesque bow!

Problem is its a pretty big boat. For those who venture onto Sailing Anarchy it was my response to Steve Clarks attempt to get the now defunct american Suicide class back up and running. The sail area pretty much allows a Cherub or 29er rig to be used with the kite launched off the bow rather than a pole. Boat is 22.5ft LOA if I recall correctly but very minimal beam. Should go like stink. Jim, Peaky and AndyP all came up with some ideas but sadly no one venture forth and got one built. I keep it on my computer as a reminder and have an 3D printed model on my desk at work but just cant club together funds and time to make it happen.

I'd still like to give this a go but I have a Grad and an RS700 needing winter maintenance so no chance this year.

Peaky already also knows where to find a potential doner NS hull or two not a thousand miles away, might be closer to his overall measurements .... and well maybe not quite that many miles !  Wink

Don't fancy your chances of getting that jib to self-tack.  But I'd rather have a decent jib shape than a self-tacker any day.

We don't know but it might really be worth a call to Devoti if you want to save a lot of 'wheel re-designing' time and money.  The hull shape is not extreme, goes well, carries weight and is reasonably forgiving of most crew sins.

If that is not a viable route we might (with Rondar) always be prepared to supply a part hull here for that 'one-off' to anyone itching to self-build a special.  Nothing available now but maybe coming out of the current programme soon enough.
