Just wanted to publicly thank Draycote water and the race team for putting on a flawless event this weekend, in very trying conditions.  No messing about waiting between races or results.  The management was exceptional.  Shame the wind never really showed up, but you made the event a good one non the less.  I will definately be back again next year.

Thank Chris, Tom and team.

Thanks Russ that means a lot. The wind didn't really play ball. It meant some tricky decisions had to be made by the race team which I know not every competitor necessarily agreed with, but we did our best.

+1

It was my first visit to Draycote (work got in the way of previous attempts!) & thought it was a great venue.  4 back to back races with 3 fleets is a huge logistical challenge, so was very impressed with the remarkably small wait between each race. The no-faff black flag policy certainly seemed to work!

As a bonus we had some great Icon racing - 3 boats with 'normal' people in them - so each boat had at least one race when they were 'first Icon'.

Pity about today being more drift than dash, but that's definitely beyond the the organiser's control!!

We will definitely return..........

Mike B.

I'm guessing there were some miffed folk sailing a non-discardable double points race in a drifter.  And I can see why...

But at least there was a race - I just managed a complete lap.

Can't think that back-to-back races with 3 fleets would have occurred in today's conditions.

I can't see why, it was in the NoR everyone knew it was going to happen.  Not like it was dropped on everyone last minute.

It was a brilliant event.

Hi john Jack, I think the halo py is a little tasty.  Nick Craig told me that mike was going faster and higher than him in his merlin upwind!  It's certainly a much faster boat than the zero.  We are nowhere near the 1015 set, I think 1035-1040 is about right for us.  But frankly there is no way that a zero and halo are anything like the same pace
