Great video chris thanks for sharing.  We're the overhead shots filmed by one of those drone cameras?

The trainers made me smile as well.

This is one boat I don't intend to try at my age.  What happened to the last 30 years?

Anyone else watch that video and end up thinking that the musto has one to many things to play with off wind? Absolutely no disrespect intended to those who sail them but off wind it just looked like he was missing a crew. Between having the kite sheet in his teeth, the main being all the way out not doing anything and not being on the wire to fully power up.

It shows the skill level required to pilot one which is impressive and well beyond me without being much fitter! Very impressive to watch though.

Yes trainers, noticed that, interesting.
I learnt to sail in trainers but then when RS300 came out I got an early demo one and bought dinghy boots because I thought grip would be better.
Now several years on and just as many worn/split/ dinghy boots I wonder if they are really necessary. Thin soles for better feel, split toes for adjusting the kicker? Not so good on crushed concrete!
A few weeks back I had two days on a RIB with trainers over drysuit for more comfort and support, occasional plantar fasciitis (if you've had it you'll know) , end of the day quickly threw a harness on and got the Contender out for a quick spin. Grip from the trainers on the progrip was brilliant, better than dinghy boots. Maybe trainers could snag a rope around ankle more than a smooth boot but other than that.

"Musto Skiff Class training Largs Oct 2014.
Big waves and mean gusts. Ians priority was keeping the boat upright, so most manoeuvres are safe rather than fast."

It didn't seem as smooth or as aggressive as most other Musto videos. It would be interesting to know if Ian is still on the pace (I haven't looked at recent Musto results to know). Certainly looks chilled out in this video.
