Loo seats are very comfortable, much more so than scaffold poles!
Especially when they're bright yellow like mine. LOL

Nice try, KW, but EPS will always hijack it given half a chance. There's more of us than you think! Evil Smile

lol- go for it!  As I said to one of your more recent EPS converts when perusing the RS marketing blurb on the Aero, would spending another 4 grand really improve the quality of your sailing?  He agreed it wouldn't....

A similar dilemma I now face, having heard on good authority, that Rooster 8.1 sails (and other replicas) are welcome on the 20 boat + Laser start line.

(Just as long as you don't mind 'not counting' your results in the official club Laser series if you are in the top half of the fleet overall... yeah, chance would be a fine thing.)

I can understand allowing replicas...but allowing an 8.1 to race against standards.....doesn't make sense to me unless you are having a Laser handicap fleet race.

Some might say sailing a laser is enough of a handicap for anyone....

I hadn't heard that. I doubt you'd be welcome exactly, especially on right-of-way calls - I think tolerated is the best you could hope for with that fleet !!
Good luck with that, I guess kneewrecker will be your ID for some time..........

it's simple- if you are regularly competing in the top half of the fleet, then don't expect to treated with much respect for showing up with one.  Your results won't count as a minimum, cause too much trouble and start sailing like an aggressive a-hole, then I'd imagine the 'more the merrier' policy may get swiftly re-written not in your favour.

If you are a mid-low end fleet muppet and are just happy to go out for a sail, have a decent enough race and in all likelihood, using it for necessity as the payload has been optimised for stronger wind through th optional ale and kebab upgrades, then I've been assured it isn't a problem, even if there's a couple of stalwarts who might grumble in the dinghy park about it.  (Stalwarts, especially dinghy park ones, normally do, best ignore them...)

I've got a nice big garage now in the new gaff, and I intend to spend the winter taking kw's advice to pimp the feck out of the EPS and do all the things that they should have, raise the angle of those racks, try and elasticate and ball bearing or traveller them so they go in and out smoothly.
Work on that drum gybe drive maybe, got nothing to lose it aint exactly selling and my new Aero's arriving Friday..
