Simon you got no hope mate, sorry.  With posts like that you will encourage it further.  In fact there has been very little bitchin about how the boat actually sailed.  Besides, other than the chap from Northampton and Gurnard no one seems to own one and you are getting upset about a boat you don't own yet and wont do for the best part of 5 months!

Sadly, I think you call the wrong shift and sailed the wrong way up the beat by starting another thread so early.  I understand you are excited about your new boat, but you haven't actually posted anything constructive yourself for people to talk about.

If an Aero owner wanted to come on and share their thoughts and experiences ala Zero, then i am sure that would be welcome. At the moment a thread has been started by someone that frankly just looks like they want to publicise a class with nothing actually to add.

So its going to go wildly off track fella!

As a little thought might have told you it couldn't as it was a pursuit race. Suggest in future you check and read more carefully before calling people liars, since it was fairly obvious he wasn't talking about a pursuit race.

Bit harsh ?

And Jim's logic is flawed, pursuit race or otherwise, they started together...

it sure does, but interesting not to mention the main event from the Battle of the Classes?  Just Sayin'

... and Simon, really?  This was tumbleweed until Boat Basher stated the obvious- congratulations for migrating one set of observations from a thread that wasn't even titled RS Aero to one that is.  Google will be sure to reference this accordingly...  Confused

Anyway, enjoy the boat... when you eventually get it.   Smile

Hi! I am in!

Well done to Chunky for setting up a lovely forum, thanks.

I did Barts Bash on Sunday after the Battle of the Classes race in
1003. Great days sailing with some full on planing in the spiky gusts. That was just my 3rd time out and I spent most of the first race trying to work out the best sail settings. My main challenge there seemed how much kicker to use.

In the Bash I got away on the shifty/fluky first beat and actually finished 4th on the water behind Osprey/505/RS300. Cant draw too many conclusions from that considering the patchy conditions (offshore wind under cruse ship and boat show) but I did find the Aero9 very agile, being able to throw a couple of scramblie roll tacks as the wind went crazy underneath the cruise ship.
Now, I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me, but I did think I saw Mr Holman beating this RS Aero in the results, and given they both started at the same time, surely this would have put the D-Zero ahead of the Aero across the water....???

Alas pistol Pete did me fair and square (as did my mate in the other zero) in the shorter Barts bash race held after the pursuit. I got parked in a big hole shortly after reaching up what was the middle of the short beat. In the shadow of the cruise liner.
I reckon another lap and I'd have got him, but then I would say that

I was talking about this:

Whatever the hell that was anyway- That was a Bart's Bash thingy too wasn't it?
