So now you have money to buy horses and a d-0.
I only post this because I sailed Jeffers boat and loved it, even though there was very little wind.
I want one and I still reckon my best chance is for you to buy one new and for me to buy it off you in eighteen months time Come on James, you know you still want one.

Nothing wrong with using cable ties, (other than them being a one shot you can't adjust) you just have to size 'em by the little plastic tab, not the main strap.

They have been used by the previous owner of our boat to neatly secure the toe strap rope loops. Tried copying it for the loop on the new mainsheet and all was fine until an epic fail on windy gybe

Yep that little tab aint there anymore, so the big question do I double them up, or revert back to rope and knots? I use them a lot, Trev (my crew)takes the piss constantly, I fix all sorts of things with them and tbh this is the first time they've let me down.
Maybe I'll try thicker ones since they're all calling me the cable guy anyway.

The trouble with cable ties is you look at them and see a big thick piece of plastic, and you don't look at them much closer and find out that the business bit of engineering is a tiny little plastic tab...

Well today, in perfect sailing conditions, sun, nice easterly breeze, I learned that cable ties are not the answer to my footstrap problem. both feet in fully hiking, P.I.S.S. engaged - spectacular failure, in fact so spectacular I'm having a little lie down to recover, lucky for me the camera ran out of memory before the incident..

Both feet up in the air reverse pike to somersault...

Trev is going to crack up when I tell him.

I14 - doubt I could sail one, even a model of one in a bath, besides it's got a lousy handicap compared the RNLI wind up toy and the Ariel swimming mermaid doll.
