I guess you are correct ... didn't do the RS700 any favours ... Looks like it is first blood to the D Zero ...

Well Jimbo, my boat is the grey colour. Which is know to be faster. So Daniel is going to get his arse handed to him. I paid two buxom virgin eastern European car valeter girls £5 each to polish the bottom of my zero with Whale Semen. So the salinity of any water will not pose a threat.

I did wonder about it all really.... I have it on good authority the boat is absolutely useless if the saltiness is too high. Combine the salinity of the English Channel and the wave form of Lymington and really you have a perfect storm of terrible variables.... and that's before taking into consideration Pistol Pete gunning for you to make his Christmas Bonus.
You have to hand it Holman, he could hollow out a log and make it go well to windward, shame the rest of you are, to put it technically, f*cked.

... and making excellent way up the slope on that lake... EDIT - does that slope contribute to a lee-bow effect?

I know, and given the size of the waves in the foreground, i am surprised the Zero went so well. They must be 5 times the size of the southern ocean like waves seen in Lymington

Steve,
I wouldn't expect you to understand. Given your track record of sailing kit and overall maintenance perhaps i should explain a little in a Bolland style. Hikers make hiking more comfortable and help aid blood flow and all that other good stuff, you can buy them ready made from most chandlers. They are very much like the two duct taped yellow pages i have seen you tuck down the legs of you Douglas Gill long jon. Not to be confused with the pair of rolled rugby shorts you tuck down the front....
