How did the D-0's go versus the Bytes. Gobble them up, or just creep past? On beat/on reach.

Well they dine out quite well on Lasers, so i would have thought Bytes wouldn't provide much of a meal for them.. The Only weak area I can see with a D0 is downhill in waves, where they can be a bit nosey. |

No real data as the D-Zeros tagged onto the racing, and swapped helms doing demos etc, but certainly even with class newbies looked quick in the light stuff giving the other single handers a run for their money.  |

Given the 10% difference in likely PY's, that much is clear, but I guess I'm more wondering where and when the gobbling is done. I'm guessing on a reach, especially in planing conditions, but it would be nice to hear some eye witness reports.

Our experience is the boat goes better upwind than downwind, partially I expect from its comfort which encourages hiking. As igrf says, the shape that works well upwind is more sensitive to waves downwind. Edited by SimonW99 - 26 Aug 14 at 12:55pm |

From what I saw from the rib the D-Zero looked well suited to the flat and light conditions we experienced, quick on all points of the course and certainly acclerated nicely.  |
