Nice, but too many classes. What the club needs is a really visionary Commodore to lay down the law about approved classes - and get people sailing against each other as classes

Well to be fair none of the boats that sail on a Thursday, well that thursday, it was a little thin, what with the weather, are in the same league as those two guys in the Miracle, either in tricked out condition or honed team skill, so that could even more back the Bandit argument if you follow Dougals logic.
However to be fair to them, they have 'retired' to the Miracle fleet for family reasons and there is a very energetic fleet at the Redoubt with whom we have excellent relations, that doesn't mean I don't wind them up as pot hunting pond monkeys at every turn and when it really counted a Hythe crew won the big even we did run some while back so our honour is still intact. Had we been racing in the Alto, the Merlin might have been more focussed on us rather than the Hornet and for sure the Miracle wouldn't have gotten off the line quite as clean. I'd have made it my mission to bury them and had them eat dirty wind all the way up that beat. They'd still have beaten us, there's no way we could have bested the Contender by three minutes on that course, but on todays course? It could have been a different story.
