No, I had checked out the local sailing club but they don't have any space for more dinghies and to be honest I am having more bang for buck sailing other peoples boats. It was easier just to not take it with me and having watched the prices plummet I am feeling quite smug about the whole thing  LOL

yep- getting out quick is usually the best course of action, especially if you can't see yourself using it much in the short term.

Lol... funnily enough my weekends are pretty stitched up now for a while, so I've already advised Rodney not to rush my one, not if he has some impatient imps to service first.

I'd love to have it in time for the National Watersports Festival though, especially if the weather materialises like last year's bog-fest.

I don't think Clive will agree with you. (irrespective of where it is  LOL)

err, no James. I won't sail the 100 in Fowey Harbour, where I grew up - even tho the prevailing breeze is nearly always sheered to ww-lw. Asymmetric on a tidal estuary never a winner

Well bring it along to Porthpean Clive, you are always welcome here.  In fact that goes to anyone who wants to bring their boat to the St. Austell area

Have tried lee-bowing the tide? Might make the upwind slog less, "sloggy".

Now don't start that one again

The issue with an asym is more running against the tide, when tacking downwind forces you out into the contra current (or dodgily weaving thru the moorings) whereas a trad kite lets you sail the optimum course
