R Speculation

   True, no one has one anywhere yet.

Pretty sure there are many more than 20 boat owners at Bowmoor - it isn't necessarily the regular racers who are buying - in fact, regular racers could be late converts due to class loyalty. Some are 2nd boats, too.

	I guess so, I wouldn't think to there are many more boats on water Rupert, wasn't when I was there or my bro who is/was a memeber. I guess there is more regulars but not many! I just heard that 6 people have ordered one although one of those swears blind he hasn't ordered a boat...so that's 5 maybe 6....unless the fleet word hasn't spread. Not that it really makes any difference to anything to be honest. Anything to break up the old mackral fleet there is a bonus in my opinion. Look forward to racing them at the fed cup.

	Hadn't thought of the Fed cup - will be good if some turn out, see how they perform in a very mixed fleet.

	so 10 boats or not 10 boats.... whatever, the chances of them all being 1 specific rig from 3 choices are slim, even less that they are big boys 9m rig... for all we know that could 5 or 10 kids who've traded in Teras and are getting the kiddy rig. Something from the horses mouth would be good, but then this thread is titled 'speculation', so I guess hype, marketing BS and Russ calling out the numbers is all par for the course... 	No that was never via PM, it was another time mate. Im not going down that route again, or i will get grief on facebook again as well. The reason i questioned it is because i had heard different from a very good source (one of the people that has ordered an Aero) Its probably Chinese whispers (get it) where something has been taken out of context that they were hoping for 10 orders or there is the 'possibility of' either way, it matters not. Simon made a really valid point earlier as did you . This thread is 'Speculation' no one has taken delivery yet, i understand the Aero has had some further mods in the form of a lower boom and grab handles fitted as well.

	according to someone I respect, vaguely, lowering the boom would make it a much nicer boat. As for grab rails.... maybe they'll come in useful when you lift it to the water's edge on your Go Pro selfie just to prove how light it is.

	I saw the latest RS fleet offer on Aero which looks great but good old Mr Salmond would not be impressed its not applicable to Scotland.... Is Scotland not worthy or just too small a market?

	FWIW- I've only heard of two scottish sailors buying brand new boats before.... your good self and Martin. I guess the thought of getting 5 Scots to agree on something and also part money is too much of an ask... even for the super computers that power the RS marketing machine. Besides what bloody currency would it be anyway come September? Oh yes, 'Salmond's Sterling Union'.... erm, no.... something Balls and Osbourne agree on there I'm afraid.
