What it needs is a rubbish sailor sailing on open water where there is a Merlin around to compare it to. Now, where do we know of such a combo?

Sail on the sea? But its got salt in it, and waves, and tide, and killer whales, and giant squid that can reach up with giant tentacles and pull a boat under, and strange men with scary wetsuits...

990 - significantly down from the builder's original 1020. How low can it go?! Should builders be given carte blanche to set yardsticks for their own products?

The builders aren't setting anything with any status, and its a free country, anyone is free to make any suggestion they like. Of course the quality of past suggestions has a big impact on the future credibility [or lack of same] of any other input from that source.

When the Icon was originally suggested as 1020, the Blaze was 1047 and the Phantom was something like 1032.  Now the Blaze is 1026 & Phantom 1002.

Everything is relative but what's constant??
