Sorry to have missed you there, Jack - I popped over on Sunday and had a nice chat about the boat.

While I'm not sure I agree with the posting on another thread about it and the Streaker looking similar, they do make a nice pair of boats together.

So does that mean it goes about the same speed as a Streaker if you're hiking in say 5 kts?

Is that how the kiwi's did it, putting a trapeze on a streaker?

I must say, that Rooster Streaker at the show was really swish, if you chucked away their lame rig and put the Farr trap rig on it, would it measure as a Farr 37?

The construction, number of hull panels, rocker and all is totally different. The Farr is also an older design.

Only chronologcally. Its a generation newer in design terms. The Streaker is to all intents and purposes a decent late 50s/60s boat. The Farr is a 70s design, and leading edge at that.

Almost certainly not

Absolutely not, without a shadow of doubt

Not even the slightest chance!

Hmmm, "older" would generally be taken to mean "happened before" - ie, chronologically...

The Streaker is a 1975 boat, designed to use home building techniques, a refinement of the ones used in Mirrors and other boats. The design itself was never meant to be radical, but to suit older sailors, such as Jack himself. The Farr may have been leading edge, but would not have suited the demographic the Streaker was designed for.

What about if I wrote Farr 3.7 on it?

Could they tell?
