... hmmm - yes well for obvious reasons we prefer Sailjuice numbers and method
! (forged in the crucible of real competition etc) but enough of that for now ... Anyway better to continue this Icon stuff on an Icon thread so we will clear off - but do try one anyway and/or we'll bring a couple up your way ! Mike L. Edited by blaze720 - 06 Mar 14 at 11:46pm |

By my reckoning in our pursuit races the Icon on its new rating would start at +31 Mins 15 secs (10 mins 45 secs after the B Moths) and would be racing for just 58 mins and 45 secs. Not much racing time on the water each week. Shame because it looks like a nice boat to sail. Think we would have a more enjoyable race in something that starts mid fleet rather than trying to play catch up from the very back (he says eyeing up the Rondar Enterprise).
Apologies for thread hijack. D Zero looks the business. Edited by The Moo - 06 Mar 14 at 9:00pm |

" the moo" where are you ? Grab his hand off now! ![]() After all you will be the last boat starting in the n12 now. Might as well be last off in a proper fast boat.

Anyone with any savvy would put deposits on both the Zero and the Aero, decide later which to go with, then 'sell' either the position in the queue above list or the actual boat not wanted at a turn which will further reduce the cost of the boat retained.. simples
They are both going to be the proverbial hot cake on a frosty morning, time the season arrives. |

Anyone selling single handers does now have more competition, but The Nova is still good value for a full epoxy boat with technical rig controls and it has a strong class association and an active travellers circuit. Its also a lovely boat to sail, forgiving, refined and works for a massive range of helm weights.
Once the launch offers have gone, prices will settle and it will all then be based on whether the new classes establish fleets as to whether/when they will challenge the Laser,Solo, streaker,Nova classes.
On the other hand people seeking a new boat now, who are not bothered about fleet sailing in the short term will, understandably , look at the new boats. Edited by SimonW99 - 06 Mar 14 at 10:05am |

As said elsewhere - you want Icon(s) to come along to your club ? Just ask. If your date does not clash with a previously agreed date no problem and if we can't make it we might even trust you with a loan one !

In fairness the Supernova is an established class and the risk averse might just miss out on this deal...

£5495 for a D0, I think that'll have Hartley's worried about the Supernova at£5995.
