Yep, it was at 1000 on the Saturday morning. Problem is I couldn't really shout over to stop him fondling! |

I read that as the 'muppet' was you Norbas... whoever it was seemed to be poking and prodding it like I would, so as a self-confessed sailing muppet, I trust the fella concerned is in good company.
![]() Anyway 10am Saturday morning.... he's a keen bean, or at least well researched on what was worth a visit... Edited by yellowwelly - 05 Mar 14 at 10:55am |

lol. yes said muppet was me
I'm not sure shouting at me, or the other guy who I was chatting to(who's name I didn't catch) would have prevented the fondling.
Good interview regardless of my bald head ruining the lighting and hopefully Dan didn't mind as I put a deposit down about an hour later. ![]() |

I tried to be sensible about it. I had a wander over to the RS stand to check out the Aero but soon after came running back to D-Zero stand for more fondling and to put some cash down on one.
I pretty much agree with everything Dougal said in his comments on the previous page regarding the Aero/D-Zero debate. And also that the black OK was *stunning*. |

I agree with pretty much everything that's been written (especially about the OK being gorgeous), but my only concern about the D0 is the lack of hand-holds for launching and land-manoeuvring (please enlighten me if I missed something). I don't know about others, but when launching on a lee shore in a Laser I grab the gunwhale lip with the forward hand to steady the boat while dropping the daggerboard in with my aft hand. Also, that lip is mighty handy when attempting to haul my bulk onto the turtled hull enough to grab the board when upside down. I noticed the RS has this but the D0 doesn't - an issue for the less experienced sailor maybe?
That aside the boat looked lovely Edited by Bootscooter - 05 Mar 14 at 11:34am |

I think our own personal preferences on that debate should not dissuade us from investigating the very real potential of all sailing together every now and again, without the complexity of a handicapping system to ruin it.

oh yes... without question. Attitudes towards inclusiveness are good for the sport and cooperation (to a level) between emerging classes, rather than competition, would imho, be best for all.
Having an option to get a very low cost boat on the water - sub a grand for an old laser and rooster rig, would also encourage people into the fold, who would likely as not, upgrade down the line. Edited by yellowwelly - 05 Mar 14 at 11:52am |
