I am keen to try the boat, and would be even keener to get one over here to try.  Much as I would love to come to Burghfield I am Principal at Hunts and from now on almost every spare day is taken up with instructing or coaching.  Any that aren't are precious racing days.  Certainly I know that the last weekend in March is one of our 'Back On the Water' coaching days, so I will be either there or at Oxford for the D One Spring Cup.

If you're wondering when I would have time to race another boat it would be Wednesday evenings and non D One Sundays, plus here we sail about four -five days a week once the clocks change.  I reckon the Icon could be a real star in the Twilight Series Wink

I will be in touch with the class about a demo and see what we can set up.

the same, but different...

Hi Winging it

The CA can come to you ! (and we will support them of course - maybe with a second boat !) Boats will getting around many clubs this season on request as well as at more formal 'try-a-boat' days.   Give (Mike or) Charlotte Bell at the association a call or email.

Cheers - Mike L.

As previously mentioned we are hosting an Icon training day at Burghfield Sailing Club on March 29th.  This will be open to existing Icon owners and anyone interested in trying out the boat.

There is now a pre-registration form on the BSC website - http://www.burghfieldsailing.org/p390m412:74

If you're interested in attending we'd really appreciate if you could sign up asap to give us an idea of numbers.

..... there is a very real possibility of an Icon coming to Hunts quite soon.

You can come to a set 'Icon day' .... or Cirrus and/or the CA can bring them to your club.  Icons can be tried just about anywhere within reason and unless there is a demo clash we can be wherever  ! So contact Mike/Charlotte of the CA or us.

The recent thwart option is in one of the demo boats already (No not  the one at the show boat - that was just placed on the hull to show you lot since you kept on and on about it last year  !).  We can now even loan out boats for a few weeks occasionally ...

Talk to the people who know and sail them ... but always try yourself of course.

Mike L.

PS - Spare test slots available now 29/3/14 at Burghfield SC + new/used boats available - contact Charlotte of the class associaiton.

We now have FOUR Icons for those interested to try at the BURGHFIELD SC - 'Try-an-Icon' day on Saturday 29th - and this opens up a few more places .  The latest is fitted with the optional thwart and 'dual' toestraps.  Those with strong views on thwarts, either way,  can now both try their own preference and within a short period  the 'other' option.

Contact the class association (or me at Cirrus if needed - yes we sail them regularly !) and/or see the Burghfield website ...

I have a demo boat from Suntouched coming to Hunts tomorrow.  My schedule is such that I have to be there for something like the next four Saturdays, so getting to Burghfield wasn't an option.

Hi Winging It

Great - Sorry you could not join in on the 29th at Burghfield and the CA will be happy to advise anytime ...   If you want to know more about the thwart option or anything else etc contact Mike / Charlotte of the CA or us at Cirrus.

Hope it goes well - let us know how you get on ....

Will do Mike, if there is anyone in the Cambridge area who fancies a ride I am sure I can arrange with Winging It to get them signed in for a ride too, just drop me a PM and I will do what I can.
