+1 for me too
And at our club' the moo' has wanted a go on a icon for ages
.

Just let us know when/where ... The CA /Cirrus are getting a couple of Icon demo boats organised for 2014 and we (Cirrurs) will be making a loan boat available soon as well.   Over to you guys, call the CA/Cirrus or sort something at the Dinghy Show ... Can be with other boats and/or seperate.

Put it it on over a May bank holiday, makes more sense to me to be able to try or see the boats on the water, than bimble about an exhibition hall.

We hope that classes will cone to SailFest 2014 with demo boats,  we have booked a hangar for indoor exhibition space as well

We started last year with things like J/70 demos and a few boats in the WPNSA hangar including Farr 3.7

Please contact brenda.hoult@sailracer.org if your class interested

Most classes will do test sails - it just will involve a bit of travelling to try all the ones you want to before you buy.

even as a committed southern type, I have to say that the lack of effort up north is lamentable on the part of a large chunk of the 'dinghy sailing industry'

You can tell how geographically challenged they are when they consider oxford to be in the Midlands.  It's no wonder they fear travelling to the north, they might have to go as far as Northampton!
Successfully confusing ambition with ability since 1980.

Simple, I want laser like sailing experience but with a better, more controllable rig.

Didn't your Supernova fulfil that requirement?

No. You should know, you have seen me sail it.
The m7 mast is far to stiff for a light weight like me, even the fat boys in the British moth fleet wouldn't use one. My ideal boat has to have the speed of a laser, crossed with the rig control a have with the moth or the lightning.

Anyway changing the subject, are you going to come with me to the demo day and try an icon or are you just going to do what Ann tells you and get a enterprise? Lol  LOL

Having been accused of lurking here I thought that, perhaps, it's time to explain our plans for D-Zero test sail opportunities.

Suntouched are waiting for a firm delivery date for our first order of D-Zeros to hit the UK (you may imagine that the demand from the Devoti dealer network and the Dinghy Academy in Valencia is quite high but I am expecting that we will be at, or near the top of the list).  As soon as we have this date, hopefully by the end of next week, we will do a press release and I will also post on this forum about our plans do a series of test days throughout the UK.  We will try to ensure that we have sufficient geographic coverage to suit all and plan to bring at least three D-Zeros with us to these events.  We would be happy to talk to you about running a test day or weekend at your club if you can drum up enough interest.   Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a D-Zero demo day or weekend and we will send you our 'D-Zero demo event pack' as soon as it becomes available Smile  If you want a simpler life but still would like to test sail a D-Zero just contact us and we can let you know when and where you will be able to stretch your legs in a D-Zero.

Before you ask I can confirm that we are hoping to finalise UK pricing for the D-Zero next week.  Again we will be doing a press release on this.

Some sunny punk boat (D Zero prototype) action somewhere in deepest eastern Europe last summer to help take our mind off flooding. Similar weather for the demo tour already ordered.
