Yeah, forgot about that. Suitably urgent, squarely aimed at Thatcher's policies.

Some people get out there and do amazing stuff.

Others simply don't.....

I think my 8 Desert Island tracks would remain a personal thing, but I'm always fascinated by the interaction between music and sailing.

These tracks are always on my playlist when I'm heading to a sailing event:-

Breathe - Pink Floyd

A Forest (Acoustic Version) - The Cure

Solid Air - John Martyn

Caught A Lite Sneeze - Tori Amos

Tunnel Of Love - Dire Straits

All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix

The Edge Of The End - Lizard Lie

New Year's Day - U2

Some choices right there.
Constant battle to work out which of 3 or 4 Cure tracks on my disc.

Caught the Sir Ben desert island disks on I player, ended listening again to the Ellen McArthur one too.  Really do hope the businesses of this country that like to make such a play of their "Britishness" stick their hands in their pockets, with dedicated winners like Dame Ellen and Sir Ben around right now, we should be adding some new lions to Trafalgar Square on the back of an AC win - yes British Airways, British Telecom, Vodaphone, Virgin et al, I mean you!

Oh and so many more.

Book/ Luxury Ashley book of Knots and enough string to try to tie every knot in the book. That will keep me occupied for a year or two. Confused

Some nice ones there. Will You by Hazel O'Connor featured 3 lads from my Home Town. Wesley who played the Sax was a keen DIY woodworker / Hobbyist, he unfortunately fell onto a circular saw and chopped off some of his fingers......end of sax playing

That is such a sad story. That must be the best sax solo ever.

I would have to include "Water at the Mark", a 4 minute modern opera that we recorded with my boy Charlie on piano (and composition), my other boy (The Boy) and a Lightning sailor and singer called Alexandria singing harmonies. It was a 60'th present for my best friend and Supernova sailor Richard.

You meet nice people sailing and all the above are. Good memories.
