Oh boy.  Triple fecked.  Horses will financially ruin you.  They make dinghy sailing look sooooo cheap and simple.  Your  sh*t shoveling days will soon be replaced by working more & more to pay for it all.

Two daughters and a wife into them..... I understand that once they get to teenage years and find their old dad lurking around talking about boats and boards on an iPad avoiding the sh*t shovelling duties, my time may suddenly free up and I can go club sailing every weekend, or windsurfing at th coast, or dribbling into a warm beer at the wetherspoons... Whatever it is that old people do when they reach their mid forties....

yep-that'd be the reason... and PTA stuff, we do that too, quite often questioning why- as far as acronyms go it can often be missing an 'i'.  LOL

How perceptive, not that you could know, but my crew isn't very well, a contributory factor.

Seriously once a week and often more!

I'm the sailing sec. For the club. My wife is treasurer of our daughters school Pta, the kids do swimming lessons, French classes, and we have all the usual family commitments. That said both my wife and I hate shopping which saves us loads of time.
It also helps that my wife sails (ex DART 18 and Spitfire crew).

Works fine for me

Just straw poll question. Of the Mojo chasers, how many sail mainly single handers and how many sail two person boats?
[/QUOTE]

It doesn't sound as though there are that many Mojo-chasers out there. But to answer the question: I have found the lack of a regular competent and reliable crew can lead to loss of Mojo.

Single handed all the way... Not enough time to coordinate a sailing diary with my own non-sailing commitments... Trying to run a 'sailing marriage' with someone else's as well- no chance ;-)

(Said totally tongue in cheek- sailing with a friend or your partner or a child can be so much more rewarding...)

Anyway off to the stables tomorrow, then children's birthday party in the afternoon and the next two Sundays have family commitments so even if the wind is good I'm not free.... Looking mid Feb before I'm next one the water, excluding frozen water at the snowdome next week one evening....
