The binoculars kept fogging up my glasses, and when I was in waders I couldn't go upstairs to the dry bar where there was a better view, and everyone's sails all look the same nowadays - it's hard to spot a D-one among all the similar looking (from a distance through the fogging) RS/blaze/musto/merlin type sails.  Next time Winging it should sail an Enterprise.....And I'm a geek and I thought the tracking was kind of fun, although I agree it should be an "extra" and not insterad of the Race Officer's eyes!

The tracking for the Olympics and Americas Cup was excellent (even thought the Olympics was only live if you had a secret login) but for events of this level all seems a bit excessive.

If it is not adding to the cost of the event then why not I guess ....

Top event, nice one Datchet! Only criticism is just how damn slippery and dangerous the launching area was - bar that good stuff. Learnt a lot about inland sailing this weekend and how very different rig setup needs to be...that showed from Saturday to Sunday.

Here's to the 2014 edition!

top tips for Datchet slip way - the new red Gul boots grip well, Gill boots grip ok. Anything marketed as a trapeze boat or with a windsurfer style sole then your in for a challenging time.

if Datchet was slippy I wish all those going to the BM good luck... QMSC is a great bit of water but viscous steep sides!

Datchet's nice shallow angle concrete beach can get a lot more slippery underfoot than anything at QM. Its basically at least ten times better to launch on, and far more boat friendly, but you do get this slimy layer near the water from time to time.

I watched the online tracking for a bit as I am unable to sail at present its the next best thing. Nessa was going in circles for a while but it was really interesting watching how fast the I14 went through the fleet.
