Lee on Solent has Fullers HSB and Seafarers on all the time plus a guest beer which is normally from one of our small local producers like Oakleaf(Gosport) or Bowman Ales. We also have fosters, San Mig and Allinsons Cider.
Well we have this until the club get demolished next year to make way for new which should be ready late 2015.We will have a temporary club in a portacabin with a bar in it while we wait.
Regards
Gordon

Funny, little Grumpf our new commodore was scoping Aldi for some cheap bottled crap to appease the dinghy wallers.. His favourite draft Becks Vier will continue to be served ice cool however.

But if you are looking for the true best then I'd discount anyone that goes to the nearest cash and carry. Yes, barrels are hard to look after, but I've seen it done well before. North Devon YC had an ale festival last time I was there with the Dart18's and that went down very well.

Adnams Regatta ale at Brightlingsea club is the one that stands out in our memories.

And although RogerD gets Milk Street brew in for events, the Crockerton Classic from Wessex brewery in the nearby Bath Arms pub is always good especially after a Tuesday night drift. And listed in the GBG!

Trouble is these days it can be hard for a club to generate sufficient sales to do proper beer. We had to go to all bottled when we started throwing away the end of most barrels because it wasn't selling fast enough.

snap! and i think these days at our club, there are more wine drinkers than bitter drinkers.

a decent bottle is better than a poorly looked after/expired cask

to be fair having seen the boats that Craiggo kept afloat for his team back then (somehow, god only knows), being blind would have been an advantage.... at least you wouldn't have actually known you were racing an utterly shagged out 420 against a flight of newish Larks.

Don't you mean "sailed blind the next day"?

Trust me it was close. Being thrown out of the club due to repeatedly falling asleep/unconscious and being carried back to my bed in the uni gym!

Still sailed a blinder the next day!
