Might be a good time to start a 'Dash Confessions' thread here.

So here goes ... a few that we'll admit to anyway to get you lot going.

1) Repeatedly going 'left' up the beat on Saturday .... despite the fact that 90% of the time it was obviously the wrong side and sent you into the header from hell on the way back.
2) Setting our mental starting clock 1 minute after the Phantom in the pursuit ... and of course missing the fact he screwed up his timings as well.
3) Luffing a cheeky SoSlow who 'got lucky' round a windward mark and thought he'd try and slide over the top of us ... pathetic stuff really but by that time the 'dangly' was 'u/s' so the race was not going to get better for us any time soon ... so we just thought 'what the heck'..
4) And of course ... too much 'curry n beer' ... yet again. Wink

PS - We saw FAR FAR WORSE out there  ... but those activities are for others to 'come clean' on now.

confessions... woke up Saturday morning, checked the DWSC forum to see there wasn't a lunch break between races (therefore no natural point to join in).  Looked at the wind and considered a 9.4 and big floaty board, stepped outside to load it all up, realised it really was too feckin' cold for bogging around a lake on a windsurf board, went back inside and put the kettle on.

Glad to hear those who made it, enjoyed it and I've heard nothing but good things about the race and domestic management on the day.  I might block the Saturday out next year.

Assume penalties were taken or protests were carried out ashore?

I think we can all see the common denominator here...

I was that 400!!!

Alto - Race 1 - few seconds after start a couple of feet from committee boat, merlin a few feet to leeward alto reaches into none existant gap hits committee boat then into me!!! No avoiding action possible!!! Not sure if they did turns but certainly way back before they got going!!!

800 and canoe similar situation race 2 - 800 comes into bunch by committee boat with too much speed to leeward of me, we are sat there almost stationary sails flapping, he realises he is early and tacks straight onto port with main sheet on hard and his wing catches our bow and pushes us straight into the canoe immediately to windward of us, we had nowhere to go he had no rights!!! Was observed doing turns!!!

Cherub - up by windward mark, they tacked immediately in front of us we luffed to avoid, just as they got into irons and tacked back onto port by which time we were head to wind with another boat bearing down on us.

Merlin - Barging into mark with no rights, probably should have protested this one, but it was last race and wanted to get away plus we were way down, not the right attitude I know.

As I posted on Sat night on this very thread;
"Well it took the boy an I a whe to get back in to the swing of thing, and finally sailed the boat properly in Race 4. Slightly dissapointed that we've been given a PY of 910, but that's just the way it goes I guess. Also a bit dissapointed that in race 1, a) I stuck the nose of the boat where it shouldn't have been (right in a not-big-enough gap at the Committee Boat and b) the bloke in the RS400 to leeward saw fit to ensure that he shoved me in the said committee boat, causing some significant damage to my boat. As I said at the time I knew I was in the wrong and would have done a penalty (and did), but I didn't need that damage. "

Interesting that you agree that you had a couple of feet to leeward, yet still ensured that there'd be contact between boats

Internet protest hearing is open ...

"Facts" presented so far .... Alto was to windward ... there was contact ...

Edit. I assume one of you did a 720 for hitting the 400 and 360 for the committee boat ...

Also I believe the 400 would be penalised for not giving room to a give way boat and causing serious damage.
