Hmm, in my experience of both Canoes and Cherubs they are very averse to playing dodgems. Is there a common factor here?

Even assuming your mate was 'right of way' in all those incidents, one does wonder what efforts he made to avoid collisions to have amassed that many.

I trust he retired if significant damage was caused.

rumour has it a fair bit of bumper cars happened - below taken by a friends Facebook page who was  sailing a 400:

  • "Think I might fit some fenders for the next event though!!! Eventual score for physical contact, 1xAlto, 1x800, 1xcanoe, 1xcherub, 1xmerlin, near miss 1xosprey, 1xfireball, 1xlaser!!"

Assume penalties were taken or protests were carried out ashore?

I have to ask, I love this shot, but is this what furballers have to do in light air, or are they mid tack or something?

That is them coming out of a roll tack .. the helm is about to move upto the new windward side and squeeze the both both forwards and upright.

Actually the four races was OK, though I only did three as the sun was setting and I thought the wind would go with it - I was wrong!!

My only comment would be that I think 11 is a bit optimistic as a start time, especially for long distance travellers. There were a lot of boats late for the first start, you can argue that we should be more organised but the route march from car park to boat takes a good 5 mins and when you have to do it twice and back again (Unexpected car park charge - not the clubs fault but stung a bit!) you are up against it.

I though the racing was well organised and had a good sail on Sunday.

Glad it all went well Chris. We had some friends doing the event and they had a great time.
It had crossed my mind to do the dash, but the thought of doing four races back to back is a no no. LOL

Well done Chris- I know one person who travelled who's told me the event was excellent and the club very welcoming, sounds like you did us all proud!
