Kind of, I wasn't really counting the old Merlin's that don't represent the current state of the art. The orange canoe above looks real weapon.

Not sure its wise to draw that conclusion, there were 6 Merlins and 1 Icon. On elapsed time the Icon placed 4th of those 7 in the first two races, 5th from 7 in the 3rd and 4th from 6 in the last, so it was pretty much in the middle of the Merlin fleet on the water. -- Nice sharp shots Boatshed, I especially like the 2nd one of Colin Newman... |

In the first race 3 mustos finished in similar times all 10 minutes behind the winning Merlin on the water.
I'm guessing they did an extra lap which is not credited. This also looks to be the case in other races where extra laps are missing for fast boats. Results need a bit of an audit. Interesting to see the icon being benchmarked. Looks to be quite a bit slower than a Merlin.
