Right then. I realise that it will take an exceptional boat (and many other incentives) to persuade experienced sailors, institutions and sailing clubs to move on from the comfort of their existing boats.
However, I am very serious about the Nemesis and I believe that it should have a wide appeal. The challenge is turn appeal into sales (sails?), so watch this space...

The NS hull form is simply brilliant, and is the single biggest influence in my design. Indeed, I started off with a model of the NS and tweaked it from there, losing a bit of volume, lowering the chine, a bit of vee up front etc. but very much NS inspired. I actually thought of that photo many times, and how it would be easier to use that hull, but I am really, really, really fussy about wanting the 'perfect' hull for the boat. I have literally dozens (50+) variations on the hull, so similar that I have needed to keep a log to remember what the differences are.
If it wasn't so far away though, I would very much like to take a closer look.

I'm only playing with some 'off the wall' ideas with Echo ... it came about as an idea in 2012 having sailed against 'Mirage' at Camel week in 2012 and having seen 'Punk' for the second time at the Forumites thingme in October of  that year.  These events were both within a couple of months of each other.....  It had got to push the boundaries with weight and rig concept was the plan.   Keep it ultra efficient and see where it ends up pace wise without making it 'difficult' - no need ever to be faster than boat 'x' but lets still see what really is possible.  Above all lets try to keep it 'nice' as well.

Peaky was at the Forumites thing as well - funny what these 'informal' events can lead to !  I blame all that drinking myself.

Echo will only ever be an indulgent 'one-off'  .... probably ! Wink

Ah....clearly the market is mushrooming. In these austere economic times, it's nice to see there's obviously stacks of people out there prioritising a brand new singlehander above all else!
