er ...... I don't think I am.

Ali Young is supremely fit, not at all fat, and not of 'amazonian' proportions. She does work incredibly hard, if that counts for anything.

I'm sure she be even quicker in the windy stuff if she was taller, but she seems to do okay.

Is that really what you think the top radial ladies do?

I don't see what's changed then... the squad will routinely vary their weight depending on the expected conditions of the big regattas.  Weight manipulation is quite common practice for elite athletes in many sports.... why does sailing need to be so precious?

Do want this:

or this:

If we need to find a slot we can always drop the Full Rig Laser....just tell the boys to bulk up a bit.

I am not sure about the term "little Ladies" either.

The squad system works in its own way but still leaves a lot to be desired.

I am very surprised that I seem to have little support, do we have no average ladies on here?

I think you have a peculiar idea of what average is....

the ONS has the national average female weight at a little over 70kg in the UK.

What does that tell you about the number of 'average' sized women hell bent on an olympic sailing career then?

Of course but not average fit young women of normal height. Nothing wrong with tall/muscular/fit young women but let the smaller girls have a chance. My 26 year old daughter trains and runs, with some success, abroad and she is little over 8 stone. How would she get bigger?

If she wants to sail they are loads of boats that would fit her, from Topper, to Byte, 200, 500, Streaker, Fireball helm etc. If she wants to do the Olympics, she could helm a 470, or take up show jumping.
She's unlikely to win the high jump too, but it isn't practical (or desirable) to divide every event at the Olympics into size groups.

That said, if there is to be a woman's singlehander, it may as well fit the typical global sporty woman. The Radial may be a tad too big, but it fits the bill perfectly in so many other ways, which no other boat does.
