Hi me again- the alloy mast has issues too!
The masthead sheave doesn*t seem to be fixed to anything!! - it was bodged in with a bit of filler( which has now fallen out) how is it meant to be fixed anyone got one?

I think we need to see a photo before we can offer any advice. Or try a Google image search to see if you can turn up a picture of a similar sheave.

It's usually held in with a pin. There is one on my garage roof, I will try to have a look.

apparently its the wrong one anyway ! will post pics- where would i get a new one- does it have to be a contender one or will anything thatll fill the hole be ok?

Easy peasy. Click "Post Reply" > Click on the small thumbnail picture of a tree which reads "Insert Image" if you hover over it > Click "Choose File" > Select the file and then press "Upload" > Post the message as normal.

ah ok, that's the whole mast head - I was thinking just the sheave. You should be able to buy a replacement. Look at the make of the mast then contact a good chandler or the mast maker direct. You'll probably need to measure the tip of the mast but if you say it is for a contender that should help.
