Solo sailors wanted them! .... But probably only if the could have carbon wing backs added and be upholstered in buttoned pink Dralon - the comittee couldn't get the Dralon in Pink and didn't know what carbon was .... so no pussy pads for Solos.

Think we should end it there and get back on thread - How about a Challenger?

oh, no ... let's not, how do we vote in a rule change for Solos?  I'd welcome some pussy pads, as long as they were suitably colour-themed.

Thanks for the suggestions Clap Clap

Boat will be sailed in a fresh water loch.

Finn - no too heavy and all the guys at out club are big......
Challenger - Not quite ready for one Big smile
Blaze looks too energetic

Solo & Supernova are looking the best so far (think there is a Solo at the club)

Regards
Graham

Having a year out from Pussy pad based sailing .... last time I looked, and comfy though it is, I don't think the iCON is from the DFS school of sailing -
Once a Finn sailor you just can't help supporting the good ol' bus

the other suggestion is a F16 Cat but the budget might be stretched. Or Dart 18 etc... etc...

Would have thought Sprint 15 could be a potential candidate

Actually there is now a Phantom designed for comfort and dodgy knees that JJ Boats are now producing. Basically they have removed the double floor where the helm sits to create a much deeper cockpit. The double floor remains at the front and rear of the cockpit. See the picture below

Nice solution.  Bet it feels steadier in tacks and gybes too.

Silly question probably, but what is the point of the point of the double floor at the front and back if the middle holds water?

JJ Does a wooden laminate finish as well.  Stunning boat and a lot easier on the body.

I bought one after a big hip op and find the deep cockpit has helped get me around the tub.  I don't get the Ovi rash on the shins from the non slip either.

The centre well gives you an extra few inches of room to help get under the boom.  It empties very quickly after a capsize as most of the water runs out the back as soon as you get any sort of heel on the boat and the self bailers do the rest.  I asked James to make my well bigger to give me a bit more room to stretch the legs out downwind when kneeling and have not had a problem.  Yes it is carrying some water after a capsize but the benefits far outweigh that.

Highly recommended but might not suit the £2k budget!!

Cheers
