I dont think this qualifies as it is not a 30 second average.
But it shows a peak 22 knots km/hour in an Albacore.

The rescue boat couldn't keep up with us on full throttle 
(which probably means it needs a new engine).

You can get a lot of "air" in an Albacore jumping launch wash  Wink

I was a bit concerned about the heart rate at the time.

I had a novice (ish) crew for those conditions which all added to the heart rate (which generally has a maximum of around 170), I had to relax a bit on the second race and let the crew do all the hiking to drop it down (that's my excuse anyway).

The Velocitek Speedpuck has a 'top-speed-over-so-many-seconds function', is waterproof, has huge numbers and once ashore will give you your polar diagram if connected to a PC,

You could probably do it with the Alpinequest Android app.
That allows you to specify No. of plots/min

GPSLogger on android seems to do a reasonable job of grabbing the data points for me, and GPS action replay on the PC does reasonable analysis. Not the least instructive bits are the bursts of movement and height change when I thought the Canoe was tied to the jetty between races:-)
