I've just got some Sperry Topsider SeaHiker Boot GripX3 - ok they are electric blue but that are the best boots i've owned. OK I also got them from the USA not the massively over inflated UK price so they were an absolute bargain.

Thanks to this thread for alerting me to the demise of the Aigle boot. The U.S. site is the only Aigle official site which claims to have them. The French Aigle site no longer shows any sailing stuff, and the main UK chandlers don't seem to have any Boras / Maramus either.
Torquay chandlers (www.torquaychandlers.co.uk) appear to still have some Bopas and Maramus in stock, but only in limited sizes. I wouldn't be telling you this if I hadn't already snaffled a pair of Boras for myself; they arrived OK. I've put them away for when my good pair and my well-worn pair wear out in about ten years, so my supply should see me out. Sailing without them didn't bear thinking about!

Didn't know, so I looked it up. Seems like ozone is a real killer, with sunshine (UV) and petro-chemicals good runners-up, so if Medway Manic bought his from a shop window they'll have had a top-quality & quantity dose of ozone & UV. The Aigle website recommends that boots should be washed after every use with clean water and stored upright in a clean dry place, away from sources of direct heat including direct sunlight.
Washing out with fresh water and nothing else . . . whoever wrote that hasn't been near mine after two days gently rotting in a holdall in the back of the car.
