Ready to be very wrong about this, but I don't think the hull is any longer, just the relative positions of the mast, main foil and wand support moved forward, thus creating more seperation to the rudder (or should that be better described as rear foil nowadays).

What I mean is, I'm assuming that the wand support is able to not be counted as part of the hull length, and that there's no rules prohibiting bowsprits (as, up till now, why on earth would you have one when you have no foresail)

And nor is the rudder gantry counted as hull length. I think there may be clear advantages to have the wand a long way forward. It will change the sensitivity of control surface. Maybe the front foil could be on the sprit as well and if the front foil and rudder foil carry the lift and lateral load between them, the mast/sail can stay where it is. Dunno but this is an interesting development. |

I think you can have 500mm of sticking out bits (that are not hull) on the front and back. |

Needs to sail more...

Well it appears that I shall be restrained by a Merlin and Phantom sailor as well, so it'll be no stink bombs on the Cherub stand again this year, four of us coming up and we'll probably have to behave, but.. I wont have to drive so will be actively seeking stands with 'hospitality', that means you 'Donkey' and I will have Shrek with me..
