I see the wand is on the front of a sprit.   What is the benefit of putting it so far in front of the boat ?

Because the mast and daggerboard has moved forward with it. Sprit is a bit longer than it needs to be to maintain original spacing, but putting mainfoil and rudder further apart should improve stability and potentially reduce drag if I can get away with smaller rudders...

Mike's trying to reduce drag.  An asymmetric would increase drag.

Yep, makes sense.  Aircraft with long fuselages tend to be more dynamically stable in  pitching.

What percentage of the lift and lateral resistance does the main foil provide ?
