I think that the real point we are discussing here is are we being let down by the National Health Service? When my paint is dry I will check the starting order at the Bloody thingy and see who started behind the winged or not N12's and the winged or not 420's for they are the culprits here. A lack of observational skill on their part has caused this wandering post. When I was a lad spectacles came from the NHS. If you could not tell a National 18 from a Firefly ones Mum hauled you into a clinic where a white coated official with a fag on stopped searching for nits and nailed a pair of wire rimmed glasses onto your head. Suddenly all became clear and you could see buses and predatory pedophiles. One of my offspring wears glasses by Armani and Gok Wang for heavens sake. This means that he looks sexy but cant tell a bicycle from a horse. So, this confusion is all caused by Specsavers, Pat Smythe and Lance Armstrong. Bring back Nitty Nora.
Can we stop talking about this now....even I'm bored?

"As well as sporting clearly illegal 'appendages'" Where is the speculation in that comment?

the text Fintastic quotes from dougaldog is just a set of speculative questions that, still does not question anyone's honesty
tempted to say "calm down Mum" but probably shouldn't [joke, humour you know]

Finntastic has found a quote that supports the view that the guys in the 420's were accused of cheating. Forums are full of people going off on one with only the slightest sliver of information on which to base their views*, but in this case I can see why the competitors (or their dads) might think it all rather OTT. * Would be rather boring if we didn't, really

[QUOTE=Dougaldog]
Firstly, the 420s. As well as sporting clearly illegal 'appendages', did the foils comform to the rules in all other ways, or were they profiled - which is a clear breach of the Class Rules. Now take this one stage further, what else on the boat contravened the Class Rules?
Were the sailors competing in these boats from one of the RYA Squads (let's face it, many of the 420 sailors are!) because then the question ought to be asked of the Squad leader if he intends condoning such actions. Is this really what the RYA is teaching our next generation of sailors?
My point I think.
