no one builds them here and no one imports them either.  I suspect the five or so that are in the country came over all in the same container.  They have a new buildernow though, so if there was interest....

thanks for the py tip.
the same, but different...

We have two Megabytes at West Oxfordshire SC sailing off 1052. Never seen one in front of my Albacore though...

Great boats though. How come they never took off?

Well, they have generously allowed me to sail provided I stomach a handicap of 1020 - 10 points slower than a phantom.  Most places sail off 1074 for the mb, but admittedly it is unproven.  Just as well I hadn't dusted a place in the trophy cabinet.

But today I get a cheery email from my own club (who I take out a mortgage to join every year) (and it's not Hunts, it's the other one) which tells me essentially that I'm stupid for not having read the NoR (fair point) and they might not let join in the fun because my boat 'is not listed as a class with an approved handicap' so I must wait to hear from them to see if they will let me race!  And I was so looking forward to collecting my prizes!

I have sent them the limited information I have, I await their verdict with baited breath.  Great end to the year.

Sounds like you are ready for a keelboat or perhaps a cat ... even Solo sailors capsize sometime.

Well there you go then at that age I'd have risked everything and not batted an eyelid and at that height and weight I'd say you'll go as far as it is possible to in it and good luck to you.

Me, I was 57 and weighed 10 1/2 stone and hadn't really sailed a dinghy before, so it was probably in hindsite a bit of an ask, but it shouldn't be was my point, there's nothing I shouldn't be able to do - it is written.
