It's simply f*ckin' awesome.  End Of.*

* until the next time someone breaks the records, and that folks, is the point.  We should celebrate the achievements of this team, whilst applauding those who are prepared to step up to the mark to further challenge it in the future.

I also don't think they are done yet.

Well done to Paul and all the people involved in this project it is a fantastic achievement in the face of what a lot of people said was not possible.

Ditto.  Well done the VSR team

Fantastic achievement, i can remember so many previous attempts powered primarily by optimism that never got close to the speed of a production windsurfer.

Here then is something we can't understate: THEY DID IT!

As to the relevance: who knows what ideas will be spun off from this design? You just don't know where we will be going next.

the shots on the video are just great, shame the kitesurfer wasnt going in the same direction to see the difference in speed.

the kite suffer was taking the aerial footage and needed a different vector to keep SailRocket in frame for as long as possible.

does amaze me that with so much attention paid to the aero dynamics, they stick some distintly non-aero Go Pros to the boat and his helmet...

The aerial footage was taken from a remote controlled 'model' plane with a Gopro camera fitted to it.

"I also made sure that our friend and guru RC model plane flyer Bernt was there. He had a plane which could fly at 110kmh with a GoPro2 on it."
