Is any geographic reference ever a compliment? I know what I mean when I say "Northern" - it is actually a little chant starting with the 1st word meaning not clean and the 3rd word meaning not knowing who your dad is... |

I guess we are mixing south as in our brave boys in grey and the northern war of oppression with going south of the border, as in Mexico for recreational or retirement purposes. Although may be mufflers, whippets, black puddings and flat caps are the subject or is it kilts, claymores and a few drams? For the purposes of this thread, I think iCON training should happen North of Hadrians wall, March/April?
You can be my wing man anytime, let's try to avoid a flat spin and an engine flame out!

TR: Hey ScotsFinn you big stud... SF: That's me, honey. TR: Take me to bed or lose me forever... SF: Show me the way home, honey! Clearly the Icon love-in is long overdue.... |

Rodney is due in Poland to check over the next batch due to him - yours included - so assume they will be over very soon. Roman Teply is talking about sending his demo Icon over as well so he can do a winter event or two over here ... part fun and part promotion I'm thinking. (and not much winter sailing in deepest Poland !) If there is no room on the next transport I'll lend him '03' for the Bloody Mary if he wants to fly over .. and arrange for 'Dancing Farmer' to crew for him (They have sailed together already). What are you planning yourself ? Can we tempt you and TR south for an event or two and see if we can get a mini fleet going ? ... or for a training event maybe if we can organise something ? Mike L. ('03') |

If all else fails and the winter closes in, training in Largs in the spring has tempted me north.

Hi mike and mike
Yep training on the Scottish Riviera is a cert. .... all welcome and I can organise coach and safety for a small club fee. Craig and I are up for an event in the frozen south if there is one within a reasonable weekend jaunt. Rodney is off to the factory to get latest on the boats .... So unfortunately it'll be photos for Christmas and we'll not be sailing in any of the northern sail juice events. However all good things are worth waiting for ....Mikes any idea for middle country winter events for team iCON ?

It is a little way off but the Steve Nicholson event at Northampton might be worth a trip .... the Blazes are not likely to be doing it this year for all sorts of reasons so I'm possibly 'free' to Icon with 'Dancing Farmer'. It is also a reasonable time after Christmas from memory so maybe you will have your boat(s) by then ... maybe even collect form Rodney as part of a round trip ? Well you may as well jump in at the deep end ! Mike L. |
