How can anyone not recognise the achievement here, and negative comments are sad. Roll out your better achievement ...

Sailrocket is awesome and they are not finished yet ....

The team of VSR2 deserve to be applauded as this is a monumental achievement - take that windy plankers. Better still is that they did it in 30knots not the 40 the boarders are trying to do it in. I mean come on sailing at 70mph, awesome!!

Do you think bunging wheels or ice skates on the bottom (well, maybe with a few more tweaks) could see it taking land and ice records, too?

Just wondring what Mr Sail Rocket does next after 20 years chasing this?

I think its an awesome feat don't get me wrong, but its a wind powered craft not a sailing boat that they keep claiming in my opinion.

The record, I believe, is for the fastest 'water craft' powered solely by wind. Kite surfers are not boats, windsurfers are not boats....VSR2 is a water craft, highly specialist and a triumph of design. it was designed to do 1 thing...break the record...which it has done and by a huge margin. I also don't think they are done yet.

Well done to Paul and all the people involved in this project it is a fantastic achievement in the face of what a lot of people said was not possible.
Paul
